Arsenal have joined the hunt for Sporting’s promising right-winger Geny Catamo.

The 22-year-old Mozambican has been turning heads with strong performances, including a pivotal goal in a 2-0 win over Boavista.

With Aston Villa and Tottenham also in the picture, Catamo has become a sought-after prospect in the Premier League.

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Mozambican full-back Geny Catamo, who has been delivering strong performances for Sporting.

Catamo caught the attention of football fans with a decisive goal in Sporting’s 2-0 win against Boavista.

In addition to Arsenal, Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Tottenham are also reportedly keeping tabs on the player.

Geny Catamo is left-footed but has successfully adapted to a full-back and right-winger role in the Sporting squad.

The 22-year-old has seen a recent turn of fortunes in his career. After less successful loan spells at V. Guimarães and Marítimo in the lower division, he managed to secure his spot in Sporting’s team following an impressive pre-season.

So far this season, Catamo has participated in 13 matches, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Catamo’s versatility in covering the entire right flank, his technical prowess in one-on-one situations, and his ability to shoot have made him a sought-after player.

Financial details surrounding a potential transfer reveal that Catamo has a contract with Sporting until 2025 and a release clause set at €60 million despite only being valued currently at around €1.5m.

Notably, Sporting only owns 25% of the player’s contract. The club is currently in negotiations with his former club, Amora, to acquire the remaining 75% of the player’s rights.
