Arsenal have held conversations with the agent of Genoa defender Radu Dragusin, according to the agent himself.
Over the international break, Radu Dragusin’s agent Florin Manea held an interview with Romanian outlet Fanatik, not to be confused with the Turkish outlet of the same name.
Manea revealed that he’s been in London recently, and he’s held meetings with Arsenal, among other Premier League teams.
“I have been in London for some time and have almost weekly meetings with important teams,” Manea said. “We are getting closer.
“I spoke with Newcastle, with Arsenal, with Tottenham. I also have messages with them, and conversations. There are teams that ask [about him].
“I want to say that 100% by next summer, Radu will play at not [just] a strong club, but very strong! In the top 10 in the world. He wants to be in the Premier League, but know that Milan like him a lot. I talked to the people there.”
Manea went on to reveal that Dragusin has a contract extension offer on the table from his current club, and any potential buyers would have to invest a significant fee to complete a deal.
“They must first come to terms with Genoa, their demands are very high,” Manea said. “We have a contract extension offer on the table.
“We understand each other, but we said that if a club comes that we like, we want to leave and leave for around €30m.”
Dragusin is a regular starter for Genoa, making 15 appearances (14 starts) already this season. The Juventus youth product is also a Romania international, making 12 appearances for his country since his debut last year.
At just 21 years old, Dragusin should have a long career ahead of him, so he could be a good pickup for the interested clubs. But at €30m (£26m), it’s not a signing without risk.
