After starring against Manchester City, William Saliba has withdrawn from the France squad due to a toe injury that required a pain-killing injection.
William Saliba will be resting up at London Colney during this international break as the club look to treat a problem with his right toe.
Saliba was one of the standout performers as Arsenal finally notched up a win against Manchester City to climb above them in the table, despite the controversial decisions by Michael Oliver during the game.
Against City, Saliba won all of his on-field duels, achieved a pass accuracy of 97%, and maintained a record of not being dribbled past which now stretches to eight Premier League matches.
After the match, Telefoot journalist, Saber Desfarges reported, “William Saliba, who played undercover against Manchester City, remains available to his club to treat an injury to his right toe.
“Jean-Clair Todibo is called up to the French team.”
It was later confirmed that the defender picked up the injury during the game rather than being a problem he went into the match with.
France are due to play the Netherlands in a Euro qualifier on Friday, 13 October with a second qualifier against Scotland four days later.
In an interview after the game, Mikel Arteta mentioned that Leandro Trossard also had a problem, which is why he was subbed at halftime.
