Swansea City have announced the winner of their Goal of the Month award for September, with Arsenal loanee Charlie Patino earning the accolade.

With Swansea having just gone 2-0 up in the second half of their game against Sheffield Wednesday, the away side were pushing to try and get back into the game.

But in the 67th minute, Arsenal loanee Patino raced onto a through ball from Jamal Lowe, before chipping the Wednesday goalkeeper to make it three and kill the game.

Patino celebrated with a knee-slide, coming off seven minutes later with the three points all but secured.

After six games, the goal was Patino’s first in Swansea colours, having provided three assists in the previous five matches.

The midfielder has since gone a few games without a goal or assist, bringing him to nine appearances in total.

But Swansea fans won’t care, as they’ve won all three fixtures with Patino in the starting lineup on each occasion.

The recent run of a draw and four wins has helped Swansea shoot up from the relegation zone to 12th, and they’re now just three points behind the play-off places.

With Patino’s help, things are looking a lot rosier for the Championship side right now.
