As Champions League action heats up, Lens are pulling out all the stops for their upcoming fixture against Arsenal.

The French side have unveiled a special ‘collector’s jersey’, which pays homage to their last appearance in the tournament nearly two decades ago.

Lens are set to unveil a special ‘collector’s jersey’ for their upcoming Champions League match against Arsenal.

This unique kit pays homage to the club’s last participation in the prestigious tournament during the 2002/03 season.

The French side took to Twitter to showcase the special kit. The video features several players who were part of Lens‘ squad in their last Champions League venture.

It also included an honourable mention of Bouba Diop, a former player who passed away in 2020. The special kit has been designed to mark what is considered a momentous occasion for both the club and its supporters.

In contrast to the sense of occasion surrounding Lens, Arsenal come into the match on a high note, having secured a commanding 4-0 victory over PSV in their previous Champions League fixture at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners will be keen to maintain their form and secure a place in the knock-out stage at the earliest opportunity.

The match between Lens and Arsenal is set to take place at the Stade Félix-Bollaert on Tuesday evening and the fixture presents an ideal opportunity for Arsenal to solidify their position at the top of Group B.

Both clubs, however, have their own set of ambitions and pressures. For Lens, the special kit and the fanfare surrounding the match reflect their aim to make a strong impression in the tournament, especially against a top-tier team like Arsenal. For the Gunners, it’s another chance to assert their European credentials and take a significant step towards the knock-out stages.

In a week filled with anticipation, the special ‘collector’s jersey’ acts as a tangible symbol of what this Champions League fixture represents for Lens. Meanwhile, Arsenal, ever focused, look forward to demonstrating that they are still one of the teams to beat in European football.
