Joel Ideho left Arsenal earlier this year, as the Gunners opted to release him from their academy.

The 20-year-old winger was signed up by Dutch second-division side ADO Den Haag, with his new club confirming he’d agreed a two-year deal.

Ideho has slowly been breaking into his new team since then, and he’s made eight appearances (three starts) over the last few months.

But the youngster had a milestone moment on that eighth appearance against VVV-Venlo, as he scored his first senior goal.

With VVV-Venlo 1-0 up at half time, ADO Den Haag opted to introduce Ideho as a substitute for the second half.

The hosts then pulled level in the 62nd minute through centre-forward Henk Veerman, before Ideho had his moment in the spotlight to give them the lead.

A slightly deflected cross found its way to Ideho’s feet around the centre of the penalty area, and the winger took a touch to control it before firing a shot in at the near post.

You can watch the goal in the ESPN highlight package of the game from the timestamp 4:34.

Sadly, the evening didn’t have a fairytale ending, with VVV-Venlo scoring in the dying moments to make it 2-2 and snatch a point.

All the same, Ideho was clearly pleased to be off the mark with his new side.

“Happy with my first goal for ADO Den Haag,” Ideho wrote on Instagram. “Plenty more to come.”

Den Haag sit third in the Eerste Divisie table as it stands, so a promotion push is certainly on the cards this season.
