Kai Havertz has joined up with the German national team after a minor delay due to a dental operation, according to reports.

Arsenal’s Kai Havertz linked up with the German national team on Wednesday, making him the final member of the squad to arrive in the USA.

The rest of the squad had travelled on Monday, but Havertz didn’t join them then due to a dental procedure, according to German outlet Sport1.

Having had his surgery, Havertz is now reportedly available to play for Germany against the USA in Julian Nagelsmann’s debut friendly on Saturday.

Former Germany boss Hansi Flick was sacked following Germany’s 4-1 defeat to Japan in September, and sporting director Rudi Voller took charge on an interim basis for the subsequent friendly win over France.

But Nagelsmann has now been appointed to the managerial role, and he’ll get his first chance to lead the side out when they play their friendly on Saturday at 20:00 BST.

Germany are hosting Euro 2024 next summer, so they don’t have any qualifiers to play, as they automatically qualify for the tournament.

As a result, Germany are testing themselves on the other side of the Atlantic over the October break, playing the USA on Saturday and then Mexico in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

It will be a tight turnaround for Havertz after that, as Arsenal play his former club Chelsea in London on Saturday, less than four days later.
