Ahram report that Cam’ron Ismail has linked up with the Egypt u19s over the October international break, with the outlet claiming the player has opted to represent the country.

Having been born and raised in Islington, Ismail is obviously eligible to play for England.

But the defender recently confirmed to Arsenal.com that his mother is Egyptian and his father is Nigerian, giving him two more options for his international future.

16-year-old Ismail stepped up to the u18s over the last year or so, after first making his debut at that level in the early stages of the 2022/23 campaign.

In all, Ismail made six appearances in the u18 Premier League last season, a figure he’s already matched in 2023/24.

On top of those six u18 games, Ismail has also recently made the bench for the u19s in the UEFA Youth League, and the u21s in the Premier League 2.

The young left-back is clearly making progress through the ranks at club level, and he has plenty of options in the international game.

Ismail idolises Theo Walcott, and he was always desperate to play for his boyhood club Arsenal.

At first, the Gunners turned him down, twice. But they eventually signed him in September 2021, and he’s spent the last two years with the club of his dreams.

“This season, my goal is simple: make as many appearances as possible, whether it’s with the Under-18s or the 21s. I simply love playing football,” Ismail said recently.

“Just going into the building every day fuels my hunger and desire to one day get a professional contract and be the next Bukayo, Emile, Reiss, and Eddie.

“They’re guys who’ve made it through Hale End and are now playing at the first-team level, which is where I want to be.”
