Bukayo Saka will not be part of England’s squad for the upcoming matches against Australia and Italy.

The player underwent medical evaluation at St George’s Park which confirmed that he is still recovering from a hamstring injury.

Bukayo Saka will not be available for England’s forthcoming fixtures against Australia and Italy.

Saka underwent an evaluation by the Football Association (FA) medics after travelling over 100 miles to St George’s Park on Monday.

The assessment confirmed what Arsenal had tried to tell them – that Saka is still recovering from a hamstring injury that prevented him from playing in Arsenal’s win over Manchester City.

The club and Mikel Arteta, who stated that the 22-year-old “was not available to play football at the moment,” will undoubtedly be relieved by the FA’s decision to allow Saka to return to his club for further treatment.

While England had the option to compel Saka to join the squad for a full medical evaluation, the FA eventually chose not to.

“It was ultimately decided that the player would continue his rehabilitation at his club, and no replacements are planned for the squad,” said the FA.

The youngster had previously sustained a minor hamstring strain during Arsenal’s loss to Lens, and Arsenal were optimistic that Saka would be given the time to recover during the international break.
