Arsenal fought back from a 2-0 deficit to secure a point against Chelsea, maintaining their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

Leandro Trossard, who came off the bench to equalise, highlighted the team’s resilience and work ethic along with what they changed in the second half to get them back into the match.

Leandro Trossard entered the match following Declan Rice‘s long-range effort that had finally got Arsenal on the scoresheet. Within minutes, he had drawn his side level with his fourth goal of the season.

After the match, the Belgian attacker praised the squad’s mentality and work rate that contributed to two late goals that drew the game level.

“It’s really well done to the boys to not get our heads down, and keep on working,” Trossard said after the match. “That’s how you can even win games as well. We need to take that with us and focus on the next game.”

Trossard was particularly pleased with his contribution. “I’m really pleased [to score], obviously it’s nice if you can help the team with either a goal or an assist, and today, that went my way and I’m happy it gave us a point,” he said.

This season, Trossard is averaging a goal or assist every 65.6 minutes.

Shedding light on the change of gear in the second half, Trossard explained, “It’s not easy to have an explanation on that, but we just changed the gear in the second half a bit more.

“We played better, we were more aggressive, and you have to win your duels as well. I think we did better in the second half, and we can score goals like that.”

The performance against Chelsea comes as Arsenal prepare to face Sevilla in the Champions League.

Trossard was optimistic about carrying the same level of spirit into the European fixture.

“We’re going to approach that game the same way we wanted to win this game as well. It’s a Champions League game and we’re looking forward to it,” he said.

While Arsenal’s Premier League campaign has got off to an encouraging start, there’s a sense of determination within the squad to continue this form in both domestic and European competitions.

Trossard’s comments reflect a collective mentality that will be instrumental in the long run.

In a league where margins are thin and games can be decided in moments, Arsenal’s resilience to fight back and secure a point against a growing Chelsea side sends a clear message: they are a team not to be taken lightly this season.

And with upcoming challenges, including a Champions League fixture against Sevilla, this resilient spirit may be a key factor for Arsenal’s success in multiple competitions.
