A couple of members of Arsenal’s academy squad joined first-team training on Saturday, ahead of the weekend’s match against Everton.

As highlighted by Arsenal Youth, both Bradley Ibrahim and Ethan Nwaneri can be spotted in images of Arsenal’s first-team training session on Saturday, as the squad prepared for Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park.
The two midfielders would have gained valuable experience from the opportunity, but it’s unlikely Mikel Arteta will need to call on them for Sunday’s squad.
Despite a couple of injury absentees in midfield, Arsenal still have Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Jorginho, Fabio Vieira, Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard, and Declan Rice to fill three positions.

On the other hand, it’s not impossible that one of the two might get a call-up for the Champions League squad against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.
Even if Arsenal call up every single fit senior player, including three goalkeepers and Cedric Soares (who hasn’t made a squad this season), that would still only be 22 players – assuming Mohamed Elneny hasn’t returned from injury by then.
The Champions League matchday squads allow for a bench of 12 players, in addition to the starting 11. So if Elneny is out, Arsenal will have at least one spot to fill.

With Nwaneri and Ibrahim taking part in first-team training this week, they seem like the most likely options for the call next midweek.
