The Gunners have been used to William Saliba making headlines with his consistent performances at the heart of the defence.

This week, however, the Arsenal mainstay made waves off the pitch. Saliba unveiled his latest venture, a collaboration with the global footwear brand, Crocs.

The partnership revolves around the footwear company’s newest “Echo collection”.

Taking to his personal Instagram account, the 22-year-old Arsenal defender showcased the new line, offering a variety of shades including a vibrant orange and a calm light green.

The collaboration, particularly given Crocs’ recent release of a Shrek-themed shoe, has been met with a mixed response from fans and followers.

One baffled supporter voiced their astonishment on Twitter, exclaiming: “I can’t believe this is real.”

Other reactions varied from the humorous “What in tarnation…!?” to more critical views with comments like “Oh William mate!!! No! No! No! No!”.

However, there were also those who appreciated Saliba’s unconventional move, noting: “Making Crocs cool again!” and “As a crocs guy. I approve.”

Beyond his off-the-pitch ventures, Saliba has been instrumental for Arsenal on the footballing front.

Last season, he emerged as a key figure in Arsenal’s defence, forming a formidable partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes. The duo’s synergy was pivotal in the club’s title aspirations.

Yet, a twist in the narrative came when Saliba sustained a back injury, leading to a shift in the team’s momentum.

This season brings a rejuvenated Saliba, who has returned to peak fitness.

He has marked his presence in every Premier League fixture to date.

On the international front, his performances earned him a spot in the French national side over the past year.

Although he faced criticism after the 2-1 loss against Germany, Saliba’s prominence in the footballing world, both nationally and at club level, is undeniably rising rapidly.
