David Raya admitted he was “over the moon” after his Arsenal debut, with his family filling the away end wearing shirts with his name.

David Raya came into the Arsenal starting lineup in place of Aaron Ramsdale at Goodison Park on Sunday, and his family turned up to the game to support him on his debut.
Raya’s partner Tatiana Trouboul shared a picture on her Instagram story showing herself and various members of the player’s family dressed in shirts with his name and number, sitting in the away end at the stadium.

Raya put on a good performance for those in attendance, keeping a clean sheet and impressing on the ball.
The on-loan Arsenal goalkeeper completed 30 of his 32 attempted passes, including seven of his nine attempted long balls, as Mikel Arteta’s side clearly looked to play out from the back.
It wasn’t the trickiest day Raya will ever have from a shot-stopping point of view, as he was only required to make one save and a couple of high claims.
The Spanish international also ran out and headed the ball out of play at one stage to prevent another attack.

But it was a very solid debut overall, and Raya was clearly pleased with how things went.
Posting on Instagram after the game, Raya wrote: “Over the moon to make my debut for this club and to top it off, a massive win and a clean sheet. Thanks for your support Gunners.”
Pundits will continue to ask questions about the decision to have two goalkeepers competing for the number-one spot at Arsenal, but the fans will be happy for as long as it keeps working.
