Martin Odegaard received a nomination from UEFA for their Player of the Week award, following his impressive performance against PSV Eindhoven.
Following the opening round of Champions League group matches on Tuesday and Wednesday, UEFA announced their nominees for their Player of the Week award.
Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard was nominated, along with Galeno of FC Porto, Joao Felix of Barcelona, and Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid.
You can vote for Odegaard here, after his goal and the role he played in Bukayo Saka’s opener helped Arsenal return to the Champions League with a 4-0 win.
Odegaard was the star man in Wednesday’s fixture, winning the official UEFA Player of the Match award as well as winning the Arsenal fan vote.
As well as his arrowed finish from outside the box, Odegaard completed 91% of his passes, including five of six long balls.
All three of his shots were on target, he completed all three of his attempted dribbles, and he won five of his seven individual duels.
The midfielder also won two free-kicks in an all-action performance for Arsenal.
It was a captain’s performance from the Norwegian international to inspire his team on their return to the biggest European stage. Now he needs to replicate that display again when Tottenham Hotspur visit the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
