Sven Mislintat has been accused of telling players to switch agents to someone with a stake in his company if they want a transfer to Ajax.
Dutch outlet NOS report quotes from VEB director Gerben Everts on Sven Mislintat, with Everts accusing the former Arsenal Head of Recruitment of asking new Ajax signings to switch agents to Arthur Beck of AKA Global GmbH.
Earlier this year, Beck took a stake in Mislintat’s company Matchmetrics GmbH, and he reportedly earned a commission from Ajax for brokering the transfer of Borna Sosa – signed by the club over the summer.
Mislintat was working as a Director of Football for Ajax at the time, taking on the role less than six months ago.
Ajax have announced that there will be an independent investigation into whether Mislintat breached any stock exchange rules.
But according to Everts, it’s not just the Sosa transfer that is raising suspicions.
“Sosa’s transfer seems to be the tip of the iceberg,” Everts claimed.
“There are indications that there is more going on. There seem to be messages to players who were told just before the transfer that they cannot make their dream transfer if they do not switch to Beck.
“That may be common in football, but is not possible at a listed company.”
Ajax released a statement on Sunday to confirm that Mislintat would be ending his collaboration with the club with immediate effect.
The club wrote that due to the “lack of broad support within the organisation”, they’d decided to part ways with Mislintat.
However, they claim Mislintat’s departure is unrelated to the forensic accountant investigation announced last Wednesday.
