Arsenal’s international scouting network appears to be doing overtime with emerging talents in Brazil called ‘Gabriel’, now with reported interest in Grêmio’s prodigy, Gabriel Mec.

  • Arsenal show growing interest in Grêmio’s 15-year-old sensation Gabriel Mec.
  • Gabriel Mec recently secured an image licensing deal, paving the way for a professional contract upon turning 16.
  • Arsenal’s attention to Brazilian talents highlighted further by their prior interest in Bitello, who is now moving to Zenit.

According to Brazilian publication, Globo Esporte, Arsenal are keeping tabs on promising young midfielder, Gabriel Mec.

Only 15, Gabriel is already drawing attention not only in Brazil but also on the European football scene.

Grêmio, recognising the player’s immense potential, recently finalised an image licensing agreement with Gabriel Mec. This strategic move ensures his progression to a professional contract as soon as he reaches the eligible age of 16.

Such precocious talent often garners the attention of top European clubs. In Mec‘s case, teams like Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain have reportedly initiated early discussions with his representatives.

The player, however, remains a few years away from making any potential switch to European soil due to age restrictions.

Globo Esporte portrays the young Brazilian as a ‘wonderkid’, a descriptor not given lightly.

He’s perceived as a treasured asset within Grêmio, underscoring the interest of major European sides in securing his services.

Intriguingly, this isn’t the first time Arsenal has shown interest in a Grêmio player. This summer, extensive reports suggested they had their eyes set on another talent, Bitello.

However, that Grêmio talent seems to be on the verge of a move to Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia.

Time will reveal how Gabriel Mec’s career shapes up. Yet, with the kind of attention he’s getting at such an early age, it’s evident that the football world expects great things from this Brazilian wonderkid.
