While Arsenal have been going through a summer of transformation on the pitch, centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has had changes of his own to handle.

Beyond cementing his place in Mikel Arteta’s side, the Brazilian defender’s recent hair transplant is catching attention, thanks to a prominent advertising campaign.

Gabriel Magalhaes, who has been a crucial part of the team’s defence, recently underwent a hair transplant.

The procedure was performed at the Turkish Dr Cinik Clinic, which has now displayed his ‘before and after’ photos on London’s iconic black cabs as part of an advertising campaign.

This has resulted in mixed emotions from the Arsenal fandom. Some social media users argue that the visibility might be unwanted by the 25-year-old. One tweet from @ArsenalArchives read, “If I’m big Gabi, I’m fuming,” expressing sentiments that the Brazilian might not be pleased with this newfound public exposure.

They were not alone with the majority of the replies to the tweet above some variation of ‘No way!!!’

Earlier this summer, the defender had also been the subject of transfer speculation, with links to Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad.

Despite playing all 38 Premier League games last season, Gabriel’s future looked uncertain, especially following the acquisition of Jurrien Timber from Ajax.

However, Timber has since been sidelined with a long-term knee injury, fortifying Gabriel’s position in the squad.

Gabriel, who arrived from Lille for a £27 million fee three years ago, opted to stay in north London. Fans have questioned whether he might now be regretting that choice, albeit for a very different reason: his unexpected fame as a hair transplant poster boy.

The clinic also features other footballers on their website, including Ivan Rakitic, Djibril Cisse and Luis Garcia.
