Simon Collings of the Evening Standard confirms that Raya underwent a medical with Arsenal on Thursday, with the Gunners hoping to officially complete the deal in time for the first game of the season.

That would mean that Arsenal need to register the signing by midday on Friday, to make him eligible for the squad under the Premier League rules.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Raya has completed the main part of his medical and he’s set to sign shortly.

Raya will join Arsenal on an initial loan with an option to buy, but the expectation is definitely that the move will be made permanent on a contract to 2028.
