Arsenal youngsters Tyreece John-Jules and Brooke Norton-Cuffy both went out on loan this week, with John-Jules moving to League One side Derby County and Norton-Cuffy joining Championship side Millwall.

It didn’t take long for the two players to get involved with their new clubs, with Norton-Cuffy starting for Millwall just two days after his move was confirmed, and John-Jules making the Derby squad the day after his loan was announced.

Involved from the start against Stoke City, Norton-Cuffy played 68 minutes on his debut and helped Millwall to keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 win.

Norton-Cuffy seemed to win over the Millwall fans, with some supporters giving him praise on social media.

  • @tuff_mcduff: “That’s how a wing-back should play… what a debut for the young fella… can’t we see if Arsenal have a left-sided wing-back too?”
  • @coltsfan2853: “Excellent debut, now all we have to do is make sure Danny Mac never sees the pitch again.”
  • @jgramuk: “Already love him.”
  • @LukeeLDN: “Amazing.”
  • @JamieHinchcliff: “Baller.”

As for Derby, they ran out 4-2 winners against Peterborough United, with John-Jules coming on for the final nine minutes of the contest.

That’s obviously not enough time for anyone to form an opinion of the young forward, but it was great to see him playing competitive football for the first time since his injury in October 2022.

Millwall face Birmingham City in their next Championship fixture on Saturday, September 2nd at 12:30 BST, whilst Derby County are in League One action later that day away to Bolton Wanderers at 15:00 BST.
