Carlisle United have confirmed the signing of Crystal Palace forward, Luke Plange, on a half-season loan.

Plange, a product of the Arsenal academy, is noted for his goal-scoring prowess at youth level.

Plange’s performances at Arsenal led to a trial with Derby County, culminating in a permanent move in 2021.

At Derby, he found himself propelled into first-team action, making his debut against Bristol City in December 2021, coming on from the bench.

His first start for Derby resulted in him scoring the only goal in a vital win over Blackpool.

Plange’s impressive performances didn’t go unnoticed.

He was nominated for the Championship Player of the Month award for December, further highlighting his footballing promise.

He netted four times in 27 appearances for Derby.

In January 2022, Crystal Palace secured Plange’s services for a reported fee of £1m.

However, Plange was immediately loaned back to Derby, reflecting the high regard in which he was held at Pride Park.

His career then took him abroad with a move to RWD Molenbeek in Belgium in August 2022, before yet another loan spell at Lincoln City in January 2023.

Now, the forward finds a new home at Carlisle United, joining the club on a half-season loan deal.

The move marks the latest step in Plange’s exciting journey, which began at Arsenal’s academy.
