Arsenal have confirmed that goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese is set to join Bristol City on loan for the 2023/24 season.

The 25-year-old American player’s move comes after two successful seasons in Denmark, where she won two consecutive domestic titles with HB Koge that earned her a move to Arsenal last summer.

Last season’s clear number two to Manu Zinsberger, Marckese found her appearances increasingly restricted after the signing of Canadian international Sabrina D’Angelo.

Naomi Williams will now step up as the third choice goalkeeper for the Gunners.

There is further speculation surrounding the future of Gio Queiroz, who might be another candidate for a loan move.

Her loan spell to Everton was cut short last season due to Arsenal’s injury crisis.

However, with the return from injury of players like Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema, and the signings of Cloe Lacasse and Alessia Russo, the forward line is starting to look well-stocked.

As the World Cup continues, Arsenal have their scouts and coaching staff, including Jonas Eidevall, keeping an eye on potential new players.

According to Tim Stillman, Arsenal are expected to add another midfielder and defender before the end of the window.
