Juventus have held new talks with Thomas Partey’s agents as they consider a move in the wake of Denis Zakaria’s potential departure to AS Monaco.

Gianluca Di Marzio has told WettFreunde that Juventus spoke to Thomas Partey and his agents a month ago, and they’ve held further talks in the last few days.

The renewed interest from the Serie A side comes as a result of a couple of factors.

Firstly, Juventus missed out on Franck Kessie, who opted to join Al Ahli from Barcelona. Then, Juventus received a €22m bid for Denis Zakaria from AS Monaco.

There’s no agreement between the two clubs yet, with Juventus hoping to reach a €25m package to make the deal happen.

But Zakaria’s departure and Kessie’s decision to go elsewhere have seemingly improved the chances of a Juventus move for Partey.

Di Marzio claims we won’t see any movement on Partey’s situation imminently, with Juventus focusing on their sales first. They also want to see how long Paul Pogba will be out before making a final decision.

There were reports earlier in the window that Partey had agreed personal terms with a Saudi club, but those claims didn’t lead to anything.

The midfielder has always reportedly preferred a move to Juventus if he left Arsenal.

Arsenal are yet to receive any formal bids, despite the reports of outside interest, but James Benge claimed Al-Nassr were prepared to offer €30m (£25.6m).

Other reports suggested Arsenal would only consider bids in excess of £30m. But Juventus were looking to do a deal for a figure in the region of €18-20m (£15.6-£17.3m).

That’s still a pretty significant valuation gap, at best around £13m shy of Arsenal’s asking price.
