Inter Milan have pulled out of the race for Folarin Balogun again, with AS Monaco set to place another bid and RC Lens interested.
For the second time this month, Inter Milan have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun.
After initially prioritising a move for Balogun, Inter Milan then turned to Gianluca Scamacca after failing to convince Arsenal to lower the asking price.
When Scamacca went to Atalanta instead, Inter returned for Balogun. But with Arsenal refusing to lower their demands, the Italian side have now withdrawn again.
Alfredo Pedulla reports that Inter have communicated to Arsenal and Balogun’s camp that they’re out of the race, leaving him free to go to AS Monaco or elsewhere.
RMC Sport report that Monaco will make another move for Balogun, after seeing a previous bid of almost €40m (£34.6m) turned down.
Mohamed Toubache-Ter reports that Monaco are still certainly in the race, but fellow Ligue 1 side Lens are also now involved.
Lens finished second in Ligue 1 last season, and they’re set to feature in this campaign’s Champions League.
Arsenal may still get the bidding war they were hoping for, but it looks like Inter Milan won’t be involved. At least until they make their third U-turn of the month in a few days.
