Speaking after the game, Declan Rice expressed his admiration for his teammates after Arsenal successfully navigated a tough match against PGMOL at Selhurst Park.

A crucial penalty by Martin Odegaard clinched the win for the Gunners, but it wasn’t an easy journey, particularly after Takehiro Tomiyasu’s red card left the team one man down for a significant portion of the game.

Commenting on the game’s atmosphere, Rice shared, “Before the game we knew how big coming to Selhurst Park is, especially at the start of the season.

“We needed to keep the momentum going, up until when we went down to 10 men we were in complete control, dominated the game, passed the ball so well, and should’ve been two-up in the first half.

“To score in the second half was really nice and then to hold on with the resilience we showed was perfect.”

Emphasising the united front the team presented, Rice noted, “If you looked on the pitch, everyone is driving each other.

“We went into a back three, and the lads didn’t stop talking, Jorgi came on and he was brilliant, he kept pushing and demanding. It’s about seeing the game out.”

On his performance and journey with Arsenal so far, Rice remarked, “I take it every day as it comes. I keep trying to listen, trying to focus, building relationships with my teammates on the pitch, and obviously doing what the manager wants of me.

“I think if I stick to those plans I’ll be just fine in an Arsenal shirt.”
