Beth Mead took a significant step on her road to recovery as she participated in Arsenal’s first women’s training session of the new season at London Colney.

The winger had been sidelined since November after a ruptured ACL, making her presence on Tuesday all the more remarkable.

Vivianne Miedema, who is also out with an ACL injury, is about a month behind Mead’s recovery,

The training session was not just about Mead; the day also marked the inaugural Arsenal session for summer acquisitions Amanda Ilestedt, Cloe Lacasse, and Alessia Russo.

All eyes were on the trio as they donned Arsenal kits for the first time, adding depth and quality to an already robust squad.

Beyond the fresh faces, the training session welcomed back 15 players who represented their countries in the Women’s World Cup.
