A transfer for Gabriel Magalhaes is looking increasingly unlikely, with his primary suitors in Saudi Arabia now focusing elsewhere.

James Benge reports on the Charles Watts YouTube channel that Gabriel Magalhaes is looking increasingly unlikely to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad were previously considered to be the frontrunners for Gabriel, albeit with Arsenal never looking particularly keen to sell.

But Benge reports that Al-Ittihad are now exploring other options, including Sergio Ramos and Luis Felipe. Whilst there is other Saudi interest in Gabriel, it doesn’t appear to be the sort that could convince Arsenal.

The Gunners are only keen to sell for “stunning money”, according to Benge, and as it stands, there don’t seem to be any clubs willing to pay that kind of fee.

Earlier this week, the Daily Mail had reported that there was still some remote uncertainty over whether Gabriel might still leave Arsenal in the current transfer window.

But Arsenal’s stance has consistently been that Gabriel isn’t for sale, even if they have been preparing moves for a potential replacement just in case.

Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is reportedly among Arsenal’s key targets in that scenario.

John Cross reported earlier this month that Arsenal were aware of the interest in Gabriel, but they’d previously turned away approaches for the centre-back.

Arsenal are reportedly under no pressure to sell, and Cross adds that the fact Jurrien Timber is set for a lay-off will mean the club are keen that there is no firm bid for Gabriel.

In the past, Arsenal and Gabriel have been clear that they don’t want to part ways. That includes earlier this summer, when Paris Saint-Germain were reportedly considering a move.

Reports suggested then that Gabriel was excited to play in the Champions League with Arsenal, and he wanted to stay at the Emirates Stadium.
