There are 15 Arsenal players involved in the tournament. Here’s how they fared in the first round.

The following players are now going home: Katie McCabe (Republic of Ireland), Cloé Lacasse and Sabrina D’Angelo (Canada).

Katie McCabe played 307 minutes, scored one goal, and got two bookings as Ireland did well despite finishing fourth in their group with one point.

Cloé Lacasse came on three times as a substitute, playing 149 minutes. Sabrina D’Angelo was unused in the entire tournament as Canada disappointed by finishing third in their group.

They are the first Olympic champions to be eliminated in the first round of the subsequent World Cup. Their constant dispute with Canada Soccer undoubtedly affected their preparation for the tournament.

The other twelve players have progressed and will play in the Round of 16 from Saturday onwards.

Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord have both played 319 minutes with host Australia – the most by Arsenal players.

Catley scored twice, and Foord provided two assists.

Noëlle Maritz played 302 minutes and Lia Wälti 282 minutes, both with Switzerland. Maritz received a booking.

Kathrine Kühl played 253 minutes with Denmark.

Alessia Russo played 248 minutes with England, and Lotte Wubben-Moy has been unused so far.

Russo, with one goal, leads the tournament with six shots on target.

Frida Maanum played 244 minutes with Norway and has an assist.

Victoria Pelova played 239 minutes with the Netherlands and also provided an assist.

Amanda Ilestedt played 272 minutes with Sweden, Stina Blackstenius 170 minutes, and Lina Hurtig 41 minutes. Ilestedt has three goals, and Blackstenius added one.

The Lionesses have a significant chance of progressing far in the tournament.

They will play Nigeria in the Round of 16, are favoured to advance, and then would face the winner of Jamaica v Colombia, where they would again be favourites.

Potential semi-final matchups could be against Australia, Denmark, France, or Morocco.
