Nuno Tavares has laughed off claims that he regularly insulted Marseille boss Igor Tudor last season, amid a short-lived rumour linking him to Paris Saint-Germain.
Nuno Tavares is one of a few Arsenal players not with the squad on tour in the United States at the moment, after he spent last season on loan with Marseille before linking up with Portugal for the u21 European Championship over the summer.
Yet the Arsenal left-back has had a busy 24 hours, with questionable rumours springing up left and right.
First, a report from Relevo stated that Tavares had become an option for Paris Saint-Germain in the transfer market.
The outlet claimed that with Nuno Mendes out injured, and Juan Bernat set to leave the club, PSG are on the lookout for a left-back, and Tavares is among the leading names on their shortlist.
Yet the speculation didn’t last long. Fabrice Hawkins of RMC tweeted out that PSG don’t want to recruit Tavares, and RMC expanded on that to say the rumour is completely unfounded.
Elsewhere in the French media, L’Equipe (via OM Inside) reported that Tavares regularly insulted Marseille boss Igor Tudor during training sessions last season.
But Tavares seemingly made to shut down that rumour too, responding with a laughing emoji on Twitter.

Evidently, it’s going to be difficult to separate the fact from the fiction on Tavares this summer, but his situation should become clearer as the window progresses. For the time being, he remains on holiday.
