- Wayne Rooney criticises Apple staff for evicting his coaching team from their seats.
- Arsenal thrash MLS All-Stars 5-0 in a spectacular show, with new signings making their debuts.
- Despite Arsenal’s triumph, Rooney’s rant adds a surprising subplot to the event.
The MLS All-Stars match took an unexpected turn when DC United coach, Wayne Rooney, criticised Apple, the event’s sponsor, accusing their staff of unprofessional behaviour.
Speaking about the incident, Rooney said, “Everything around the game is great and it’s great publicity for the league moving forward. Apple coming into the league has been great although they didn’t allow my staff to sit in their seats today.
“My staff got kicked out of their seats today by members of Apple. And I wouldn’t be doing my staff a service if I didn’t bring that up because if you are getting asked to do the game with your staff, you are expecting your staff to have seats to sit in, although I do think Apple will help the league moving forward.”
Despite the controversy off the field, Arsenal delivered an impressive performance. New signings Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Jurrien Timber made significant contributions to the team, resulting in a decisive 5-0 victory over the MLS All-Stars.
The controversy did little to hamper Arsenal’s performance. The team, led by Mikel Arteta, saw goal contributions from Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Jorginho.
In conclusion, while Rooney’s criticism of Apple may have cast a shadow over the MLS All-Stars match, Arsenal’s performance on the field was undeniably strong, promising an exciting future for the team with their new signings.
MLS respond to Rooney comments
Major League Soccer responded to allegations made by Wayne Rooney that during the MLS All Stars match against Arsenal, his staff had to vacate their dugout seats to accommodate the Apple TV crew.
MLS denied these allegations on Thursday morning, stating, “It is not true that any members of Apple’s staff were seated in the technical area during last night’s Major League Soccer All-Star Game.”
