Cedric Soares is attracting plenty of interest as he now looks to complete a summer transfer away from Arsenal despite recently reports he wanted to stay.

Villarreal are showing an interest once again, having already made enquiries back in January. In Cedric’s home country of Portugal, Benfica, Porto, and Sporting CP are all interested in him.

Arsenal are open to offers, and there are several teams in the Premier League seemingly considering one.

Perhaps most notable in Football.London’s report is their mention that Cedric is now seeking to secure an exit away from Arsenal.

It’s been pretty clear for a while that Arsenal would consider a sale.

With Ben White cementing a starting spot last season, Takehiro Tomiyasu as a strong alternative, and the addition of Jurrien Timber to further strengthen squad depth, Cedric would struggle to get regular minutes at right-back this season.

Mikel Arteta then took the decision to leave Cedric out of Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the USA, further emphasising his fringe role.

But until now, the word from Cedric’s side was that he was hoping to stay at the club and fight for his place. That appears to have changed.

Cedric made 12 appearances in 2022/23, four for Arsenal and eight on loan with Fulham.

A fresh start would likely get him more consistency in his minutes next season, and it appears he has some good options on the table.

Now it’s up to the interested parties to make Arsenal a decent offer.
