Anthony Gregory’s new beginning at Huddersfield

As the summer transfer window unfolds, Anthony Gregory, a product of Arsenal’s Hale End Academy, is one of four new scholars welcomed to Huddersfield’s U19 team.

Six years ago, a 10-year-old Gregory entered the Gunners’ academy and showed remarkable promise.

Described as a right-footed centre-back, his ability to defend effectively and his comfort on the ball made him a versatile player.

This versatility allowed him to perform across various positions – either side of the defence, right-back, or even as a holding midfielder.

Moving to Huddersfield’s U19 ranks

His move to Huddersfield sees him join alongside three other new scholars, diversifying the U19 ranks with a goalkeeper and two full-backs.

Huddersfield’s decision to sign Gregory after his Arsenal exit indicates their confidence in the youngster’s potential to strengthen their defence.

Gregory’s addition to Huddersfield’s U19 team comes as the squad undergoes a reshuffling, with players graduating to B Team level or being released during the summer.

It is expected that the experience and skills he honed during his six years at Arsenal will be instrumental in his new journey at Huddersfield.

Aside from Gregory, Huddersfield’s U19 team also welcomes goalkeeper Alex Walpole, signed from Billingham Town in grassroots football, and Oliver Calland, who was recently released from Manchester City.

Jay Smith, a former striker who has since shifted to a defensive position, also joins Gregory as the latest recruits for Huddersfield.
