  • Alexis Sanchez, formerly of Arsenal and Manchester United, is ready to agree a Premier League return with Nottingham Forest after Arsenal snub, according to reports from Chile.
  • The Chilean forward’s desire to return to Arsenal was thwarted, as the club focuses on youth development and sustainability.
  • After an impressive stint with Marseille, Alexis seeks a new home in England’s top-flight, putting his injury-plagued time at Manchester United behind him.

Alexis Sanchez was reportedly looking forward to returning to familiar grounds this summer as the end of his contract with Marseille left him without a club.

The Chilean forward had his sights set on Arsenal, where he had arguably experienced the pinnacle of his career.

However, Arsenal’s firm commitment to youth development and sustainability led to a hard pass on the veteran forward’s request.

Now, it seems he’s set to sign a deal with Nottingham Forest that would see him return to England where he scored 80 goals, with 45 assists, for Arsenal along with five goals and nine assists for Manchester United.

Alexis enjoyed a successful stint at Olympique de Marseille last season, scoring 14 goals in 35 games.

After disappointing spells at Manchester United and Inter Milan, and a failure to renew his contract with Marseille, the 34-year-old Chilean international is reportedly ready to forego Champions League football and substantial wages to rejoin England’s top-flight league.
