Football.London report that Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel Martinelli, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Mohamed Elneny are all set to be involved in pre-season with Arsenal, after recovering from their injuries.

The quartet were all absent at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, and they’re all set to miss out on the internationals over the upcoming break.

The greatest concern had been for Tomiyasu, with some claiming he could be out until late September.

But Arsenal had always officially stated that the defender was working to be part of the squad in pre-season, and it appears that’s now likely to be the case.

Arsenal are set to return to training in the first week of July, though it’s not confirmed that any of the above players will be back in time for that first session. It’s possible some of them will join the group later on the tour.

Mikel Arteta’s squad certainly won’t be full for those first pre-season sessions.

July is just three weeks away, yet some of the squad will still be playing in the internationals over the next week or so. They’ll need holiday breaks after those are over.

Worse than that, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, and Nuno Tavares are all set to play in the u21 European Championships, which don’t conclude until July 8th.

If England or Portugal go all the way at the tournament, those three could be playing at the event when some of their Arsenal teammates have already returned to club training.

But with Tomiyasu, Martinelli, Zinchenko, and Elneny all missing the internationals, they should be available as soon as they’re fit.
