Fabrizio Romano reports that all the details are now sorted on a new contract for William Saliba at Arsenal, with the documents approved and the player ready to sign.

Following the recent final talks on the deal, Saliba will put pen to paper when he returns from his holidays.

Romano adds that the contract will last until June 2027, with an option to extend to 2028.

This echoes reports from France, with Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport reporting that Saliba would sign a four-year deal with an option for a fifth.

But so far, all sources in the English media have reported a four-year deal without an option, so take those updates with a grain of salt.

RMC added that Manchester United and Bayern Munich were among the clubs interested in Saliba, before he reached an agreement to extend his contract at Arsenal.

David Ornstein confirmed over the weekend that Arsenal had reached an agreement with Saliba for a new deal. It’s now just a case of dealing with the paperwork.

The Gunners activated a contract option in Saliba’s previous deal in December, extending it to 2024, but at the time they weren’t close to an agreement on a longer-term contract.

That’s changed now, and Saliba is ready to sign as soon as he’s back in the building at Arsenal.

Team News and Ticks recently reported that Saliba will be signing at around £190,000 to £200,000 a week.

Saliba has made 33 appearances for Arsenal since joining the club, all of which were in 2022/23, but he missed the end of the campaign with an injury.

With Gabriel Magalhaes extending his contract earlier in the season, Gabriel Martinelli following suit, and Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale signing new deals at the end of the campaign, Saliba seems to be next.
