After Sam Allardyce’s departure post-Leeds’ relegation to the Championship, the management is keen on bringing Vieira onboard.

Vieira, known for his commanding presence on the pitch during his days at Arsenal, has been out of work since leaving his role at Crystal Palace following a disappointing 12-game winless run.

Despite expressing interest in the USMNT job, the role ultimately went to Gregg Berhalter.

Now, Vieira seems to be edging closer to Leeds, with advanced talks taking place, suggesting he could be in position as soon as next week.

The challenge at Leeds will be a unique one for Vieira, who has never managed in the Championship before.

He previously took charge at Palace, New York City, Nice, and also headed Manchester City’s academy team.

Leeds, who have been relegated, will be pushing for an immediate return to the Premier League, posing a new task for Vieira.

Alongside Vieira, ex-Bournemouth boss Scott Parker and former Norwich manager Daniel Farke have also been considered for the role.

Farke, in particular, is set to meet the Leeds United hierarchy. With their new season set to start, Leeds are in dire need of a competent leader to guide them to promotion.

For Vieira, this opportunity presents a chance to prove his managerial prowess. His tenure at Crystal Palace saw glimpses of promise but ended on a disappointing note with a severe drop in form and results.

The challenge that the Championship presents will test Vieira’s ability to adapt and build a resilient team capable of securing promotion.

Despite the potential risks, Vieira’s appointment could also be a masterstroke by Leeds.

The Frenchman, who’s well respected within the football world, could bring a new dynamic to the club and instil a winning mentality amongst the squad.

As the negotiations continue, fans and pundits alike will be keenly watching to see if this Arsenal legend can make his mark at Leeds United, driving them back to the top flight of English football.
