The Swedish international, Alexander Isak, recently confessed his delight at the likenesses drawn between his playing style and that of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, a player he has admired since childhood.

After recovering from a thigh injury that kept him sidelined for four months, Isak made a strong comeback.

The star player for Newcastle United, scored 10 goals in his debut season, propelling Eddie Howe’s side to secure a place in the next Champions League.

Isak’s spectacular late goals against Fulham and Nottingham Forest were particularly memorable, further cementing his reputation amongst the Newcastle faithful.

Isak’s stellar performance at Goodison Park in April, where he weaved through numerous challenges and set up a goal, sparked comparisons to Arsenal and Premier League legend Thierry Henry.

This connection has not been lost on Isak, who spoke with pride about his name being associated with the Arsenal icon, stating to the Times, “Henry’s the player I admired growing up, so I can’t complain. I enjoyed that one. They know me in England better now.”

After such an impressive debut season, Isak is now focused on Newcastle’s promising season ahead, aiming to compete with the ‘big teams’ and extend their success.
