Crystal Palace are the latest club to join the race for Folarin Balogun, reportedly making an enquiry for the striker.

Ryan Taylor reports for Express Sport that Crystal Palace have entered the race to sign Folarin Balogun this summer, asking for information on the striker.

There are yet to be any formal bids for Balogun, but offers are expected to come in as the window progresses.

Balogun made his senior international debut for the USA this week, drawing a red card for Mexico’s Cesar Montes in a 3-0 win. The USMNT will now take on Canada in the Nations League final, with the Arsenal striker likely to be involved again.

Balogun’s international exploits should only raise his profile further, following a strong loan spell this season.

Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports reported this week that Inter Milan are interested in signing Balogun this summer, and they’re expected to make a formal approach for the striker.

Sheth adds that Balogun is believed to want a permanent move away from Arsenal for regular first-team football, with two years left on his contract. But the final decision remains with Arsenal.

Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport had previously written that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was in London on Wednesday to conduct a series of meetings.

Ausilio reportedly tested the waters for Folarin Balogun, with Arsenal demanding a fee in the region of €40m (£34m).

John Cross wrote for the Mirror that Napoli were ready to compete in the race to sign Balogun, as they eye up potential replacements for Victor Osimhen this summer. So it seems Inter will have competition from within Serie A.

Plenty of clubs appear to be interested in a move for Balogun, with The Athletic also linking AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Marseille, and AS Monaco to the striker.

But Leipzig are seemingly fading from the race, with Philipp Hinze of Sky Sport Germany reporting that a Leipzig transfer for Balogun is currently unlikely.

Balogun scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 this season, bringing him to 22 goals in all competitions for loan club Stade de Reims.
