Amid the summer transfer rumours that are building in speed, Arsenal seem to have taken a keen interest in Leicester City’s right-back, Timothy Castagne.

However, the journey to landing this signing might face more hurdles than initially anticipated.

Arsenal’s interest in Timothy Castagne has stirred up a fresh wave of transfer rumours.

The Gunners seem to be working on a deal to bring the Belgian right-back from Leicester City to the Emirates. However, securing this signing might take longer than expected as Arsenal reportedly want to address other priorities first.

Previously, Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid seemed to be the first choice for Arsenal’s right-back position. However, with Leicester grappling with the aftermath of their Premier League relegation, Arsenal appears to have shifted their focus to Castagne.

Leicester City’s relegation has fuelled speculation about the departure of their key players, such as James Maddison and Youri Tielemans, who is set to leave on a free transfer at the end of June to sign for Aston Villa. In the midst of this upheaval, Arsenal havee emerged as a potential new home for Castagne.

With Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu expected to be out until October due to a knee injury, Mikel Arteta could be looking to reinforce their defence with Castagne’s acquisition.

Joao Cancelo, Ivan Fresneda, and Sacha Boey have also been linked to the club.

Will past loyalties sway Castagne’s decision?

Castagne once preferred Tottenham Hotspur over Arsenal, but his current situation might change his stance.

The Belgian international’s contract with Leicester City runs until 2025, but it is still unclear whether there’s a clause regarding relegation.

Castagne’s signing could be a game-changer for Arsenal, given his impressive season at Leicester. However, only time will tell how these talks will develop and if Castagne will indeed end up at the Emirates.
