After being unveiled with much anticipation, Adidas has abruptly halted the sale of Arsenal’s new home kit for the 2023-24 season.

The cause – an unfortunate design error that saw only 32 of the 38 match results from the club’s iconic Invincibles season featured. Supporters and football enthusiasts alike have voiced their disappointment, deeming the mistake a major oversight.

  • Adidas has paused the sale of Arsenal’s new home kit after a glaring design error was spotted.
  • The kit was inspired by the club’s undefeated 2003-04 season, but only 32 of 38 match results were embroidered on it.
  • Arsenal fans and customers voiced their disappointment, with the mistake deemed ‘beyond a joke’.

This month, Arsenal supporters were eagerly anticipating the new kit launch, modelled after the club’s unbeaten 2003-04 season under the helm of Arsene Wenger.

Unfortunately, their excitement was short-lived as an embarrassing blunder came to light.

Adidas, the sportswear giant responsible for creating the kit, reportedly made an error on the design. Only 32 of the 38 league games played during Arsenal’s iconic undefeated season were represented on the kit, causing a wave of discontent amongst supporters.

As a result, Adidas has since pulled the home kit from sale. The club’s online store has listed the shirt as out of stock and not for sale, while Adidas’ online shop is now only selling the standard version.

The mistake was so glaring that even the supporters took notice and expressed their frustrations. Social media was abuzz with fans calling out the mistake. One customer lamented, “£110 for that kit, it should be spot on. It’s beyond a joke. How have they got it wrong?”

According to The S*n, Arsenal confirmed the design mistake via email, stating, ‘We’ve become aware of a design error with the current 23/24 Authentic Home Shirt. Consequently, we’re unfortunately unable to fulfil your order at this time.’

The statement added, ‘We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and will be cancelling and refunding your order in full.’

No one knows when the corrected version of the 23/24 Authentic Home Shirts will be available. Meanwhile, the club is advising fans to check out the 23/24 Replica Home Shirts, which are currently available for purchase.

While the sportswear giant attempts to rectify the situation, Arsenal fans will have to wait a little longer to don their team’s new kit.
