William Saliba has given fans mixed feelings with his latest Instagram revelation.

The 22-year-old French international showcased his new home gym, but it’s not just the gym equipment that has fans talking. Amidst concerns about his fitness and contract situation, Saliba’s peculiar choice of décor has some fans jokingly calling for his sale.

The Gunners’ defensive sensation has been sorely missed on the field since suffering an injury during Arsenal’s Europa League exit to Sporting Lisbon.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has been trying to fill the void left by Saliba and adapt the team in his absence.

Fans, however, are eager for his return, but the focus has shifted to the player’s contract, which is set to expire in 2024. Negotiations to extend his deal have been underway for a while, with Arteta expressing the club’s desire to keep and reward him.

During a recent press conference, Arteta stated, “We want to keep our best talent. Especially the players that deserve some recognition.

“I think he has been incredible since he came back from his loan period, and we want to reward him, that is for sure. We will find the right moment to do that.

“Obviously, Edu and the board are on top of every negotiation regarding new contracts, and now we are doing everything we possibly can to do that in the right moment at the right time. The communication and the relationship is super. It is about timing, I think. Nothing else.”

Saliba’s home gym, installed in his London residence, has garnered attention for both its implications on his commitment to Arsenal and a peculiar framed picture from the hit BBC show Peaky Blinders. While most fans were thrilled at the notion of Saliba staying put, others were less impressed with his choice of wall art, prompting one fan to tweet, “Get him sold.”

The Frenchman has made 33 appearances for Arsenal this season, finally settling into Arteta’s squad after a few loan stints.

Despite his impressive 2022/23 campaign, Saliba’s injury has left him sidelined for the last seven games, and he is likely to miss more in the coming weeks.

Regardless of their opinions on the gym, all fans are united in their hope that Saliba’s contract situation will be resolved soon and that he will return to the pitch stronger than ever.
