Four Arsenal players have been named in the Premier League’s EA Team of the Season, after a strong campaign for the Gunners.

With four games to go, the Premier League title is out of Arsenal’s hands, with Mikel Arteta’s side relying on Manchester City slipping up a couple of times in the last few weeks.

But the Gunners are currently a long way ahead of the chasing pack, and they spent the vast majority of the league season at the top of the table. So it was no surprise to see multiple Arsenal players included in the Premier League’s FUT Team of the Season.

Aaron Ramsdale is in goal for the side, with William Saliba at centre-back. Oleksandr Zinchenko is at left-back, with Martin Odegaard in midfield.

The absence of Bukayo Saka was probably the biggest shock about the team, considering he’s probably been Arsenal’s player of the season overall. But Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah was selected ahead of him.

In response to the team’s announcement, Ramsdale posted on Twitter: “Surreal this! Played it for years as a kid now I got a TOTS card, like the look of it too. Thank you, everyone.”

Given they’re currently top of the league and firing, it’s hard to deny the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne their places in the team.

Perhaps the most controversial pick is Casemiro of Manchester United. There’s no doubt the midfielder has played well in various periods of the season, but he’s missed seven games out of 30 through suspension.

When you add in the two games he actually got sent off in, leaving his team with 10 men, Casemiro has let his side down entirely through his own fault in almost a third of United’s matches since joining.

The PFA Team of the Year is still to be announced, so we’ll see if they make any changes compared to the Premier League’s team.
