The situation seemed to take a downturn when Tavares, along with Dimitri Payet, was left out of the squad for a key game against Lille.

However, recent developments indicate a positive shift with Tavares rejoining his Marseille teammates for training on Monday.

Despite scoring six goals in the Ligue 1 season, Tavares’ defensive frailties have been a concern, casting a shadow over his attacking contributions.

Furthermore, his confrontational attitude and lack of effort during training sessions have added to the growing uncertainty surrounding his future at the club.

Comparisons have been drawn with fellow loanee, Issa Kaboré from Manchester City, who has been receiving accolades for his performances and professional conduct.

The situation certainly casts a murky shadow over Tavares’ potential return to Arsenal, where he has two more years left on his contract.

In the light of these events, Arsenal are faced with a decision – whether to welcome the 23-year-old full-back back into the fold or seek to facilitate a move to another club.

This case presents a unique set of challenges for the Gunners, who have so far been lauded for their management of young loanees.

The future holds uncertainties for Tavares. Will he return to Arsenal or embark on a new journey with a different club? One thing is clear – his current situation at Marseille will have a significant impact on the trajectory of his footballing career.
