As Arsenal prepare to host Chelsea in a crucial Premier League encounter at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening, the visitors have been boosted by the availability of German star Kai Havertz.

Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s caretaker manager, confirmed that Havertz is in contention for the game, having missed their previous match against Brentford. He also highlighted their other attacking options, such as David Fofana and former Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Lampard said, “Kai Havertz is in contention for the game, he’s trained this week. We’ll see who starts. I’ve got Auba, I’ve got Kai, I’ve got David Fofana. I’m not going to divulge the team but they’re all fit and ready.”

Regarding Aubameyang facing his former club, Lampard admitted that it might factor into his decision-making process, stating, “Possibly Auba’s past with Arsenal might come into my thinking, because we all think a player going back to their old club gives a certain motivation.”

However, Chelsea’s defensive department has been hit with a string of injuries. Kalidou Koulibaly, Reece James, and Mason Mount are all doubtful for the remainder of the season, while Marc Cucurella could be sidelined for another two weeks.

On the Arsenal side, former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho could feature in the game.

Lampard praised the Italian’s qualities, saying, “I like Jorgi, he’s a very good player and was part of the team that went on to win the Champions League, a central figure in it I think. He’s a good personality in the dressing room to drive the team, a good player and if he plays he’s just another good player in that squad.”

Arsenal will be without Takehiro Tomiyasu, Mohamed Elneny and William Saliba.

Referee Robert Jones will officiate the match, with Andre Marriner serving as the VAR.
