  • Arsenal concluded the season with a commanding 5-0 victory against Wolves, with Granit Xhaka scoring two goals in his final match for the Gunners.
  • Along with Xhaka, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Jakub Kiwior contributed to the win by scoring a goal each.
  • Despite this dominant victory, Arsenal ended the season five points behind champions 115 charges City who lost to Brentford, again.

In a superb final match of the season, Arsenal thrashed Wolves 5-0. Displaying a performance like we’ve seen all season from him, Granit Xhaka netted twice, leaving a memorable imprint on what is likely his last game for the Gunners.

Adding to Xhaka’s brace, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Jakub Kiwior each made their mark on the scoresheet, exhibiting the sheer dominance of Mikel Arteta’s side that we’ve come to know and love over the course of this season.

Xhaka, who appears to be preparing for a summer move to Bayer Leverkusen, didn’t hold back during his probable last stand as a Gunner. His first goal was a brilliant header, thanks to a well-placed cross from teammate Gabriel Jesus.

Xhaka’s second goal was a tap in after a deflected strike from Bukayo Saka fell into his path just minutes later.

Saka further increased Arsenal’s lead with his 15th goal of the season, cementing the win with less than half an hour into the contest.

Despite Xhaka’s mixed relationship with the Arsenal fans until Mikel Arteta arrived, they showed much love for the midfielder, acknowledging his contributions to the team with songs throughout the game, including a rendition of ‘Granit Xhaka, we want you to stay,’ when he was subbed off to a standing ovation.

Much will be said in the coming days and weeks as the dust settles on this season, but the Granit Xhaka redemption arc will live long in the memory of Arsenal fans everywhere.

Thank you, Granit.

Thank you.
