The now 25-year-old has been a revelation since his arrival from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021. Making 76 appearances across all competitions, his stellar performance was recognised on the international stage when he was selected for the England squad in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Keeping an impressive 14 clean sheets in his first season with the Gunners, Ramsdale was voted the Arsenal Player of the Month in October and November 2021.

Manager Mikel Arteta and Sporting Director Edu have lauded Ramsdale’s exceptional development and performances over the past two years.

Ramsdale’s career began at Sheffield United, later moving to AFC Bournemouth in 2017 at the tender age of 18.

He made 37 Premier League appearances for the Cherries in 2019/20. Following a brief spell at Chesterfield in League Two and AFC Wimbledon in League One, he returned to Sheffield before finally making his way to Arsenal.

In an interview with club legend David Seaman, Aaron shared his thoughts about the contract extension and his goalkeeping journey. The joy was evident as he stated, “To get it after two years, I’m buzzing. It just means I can concentrate and keep my head down, and hopefully after a few more years I’ll get another one and carry on living the dream at the football club.”

His journey from being a somewhat controversial signing to becoming the long-term number one choice for Arsenal showcases his unwavering determination and hard work.
