Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard made it into the WhoScored and BBC Teams of the Week respectively for their performances against Southampton.

Despite Arsenal dropping more points in a draw against Southampton on Friday night, it’s undeniable that there were some good individual performances in there, primarily from Bukayo Saka.

Saka scored one and assisted one to drag his team to a point, and WhoScored named him their Player of the Week, including him in their latest Premier League Team of the Week.

WhoScored highlighted Saka’s goal and assist, as well as his five chances created, two dribbles, three tackles, and 13 touches in the opposition box.

Meanwhile, the BBC’s Garth Crooks named Martin Odegaard in his Team of the Week, praising the Norway international’s “great leadership skills” and “cool head”.

Crooks added that Odegaard’s “calm and calculated one-two on the edge of the box with Ben White prior to his superb finish said loud and clear that [he] is one man Arsenal can certainly count on in the final stages of the season”.

Gabriel Martinelli was probably also unlucky to be left out, after scoring a nice goal, creating six chances, and completing four dribbles. The Brazilian winger was probably the only other Arsenal starter to perform well in the match.

As for the rest of the team, it would be a great time to bounce back and put in a Team of the Week performance against Manchester City on Wednesday.
