Arsenal hold an eight-point lead in the Premier League, but Gary Neville still thinks Manchester City will close the gap and snatch the title.

Despite this, the former Manchester United defender also suggests that if Arsenal can win at Anfield against Liverpool, they may secure their first Premier League trophy since 2004.

Arsenal’s tough road ahead

Arsenal have a challenging series of away games against Liverpool, West Ham, Man City, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest to come and these matches will certainly go towards determining the outcome of the title race, as matches tend to.

Man City’s experience a factor

When it comes to closing the title out, Neville believes that Manchester City’s experience in title races could be a deciding factor in the run-in.

Arsenal are in an unbelievable position, they have real confidence, its about staying clear of injuries and keeping that form going,” Neville said.

I still think City will do it as they have that bit more experience, it is 50/50 [clearly he doesn’t think it’s 50:50 if he thinks City will do it]. I was certain about six weeks ago and thought Arsenal would drop points but I think City will still do it.

“I won’t put it all on Anfield, but if Arsenal go there and win I would say it is definitely their title, our manager used to say if you win there you win the title.

“Anfield is a terror of place to go, if they win at Anfield I think they will win it.

“I think if City are within four five points when they play them, if City play against Arsenal right on their shoulder that pressure will be unbearable on their shoulders.

“We hunted Newcastle down and they faltered badly, Arsenal aren’t faltering but they have really tough games when you are going for your first title for many of those players.”
