Igor Tudor’s disapproval of Matteo Guendouzi will likely lead to a summer exit, leaving Marseille supporters disappointed.

Guendouzi’s winter transfer dilemma

Combative and effective, Matteo Guendouzi has found a special place in the hearts of Marseille supporters.

However, with head coach Igor Tudor’s growing disapproval, his future at the club appears uncertain.

During the winter transfer window, clubs such as Aston Villa showed interest in the French midfielder, but Guendouzi chose to stay at Olympique de Marseille.

Premier League prospects and challenges

At the age of 23, Guendouzi has a significant decision to make regarding his career.

Former FC Eindhoven player Kevin Diaz shared his thoughts on RMC, stating that Guendouzi today would struggle to find a place in Arsenal’s current squad.

“For me, no one in France thought that (Mattéo) Guendouzi would be the new (Patrick) Vieira, or that he would become an international class midfielder,” Diaz said.

“That is to say, to start in a top 16 of the Champions League. Yes, he started (at the Gunners). But it was not in the great period of Arsenal.

“Today, Guendouzi in this team? He would not even be on the bench. His qualities , we know them. Yes, he is someone who has the passion, but he is not a technical player, even if I am not saying that he is technically bad.

“Mentally, he has a very good state of mind. He doesn’t give up. He’s the kind of player you like to have with you, but not against you. He can run, he’s above average in his ability to repeat efforts. He is a real box-to-box player”

Tudor’s disapproval clouds Guendouzi’s future

According to RMC consultant Stéphan Guy, Igor Tudor does not hold Guendouzi in high regard.

This revelation casts doubt on the midfielder’s future at Marseille. “I know, from echoes close to Tudor, that he does not have great esteem for Guendouzi,” he said.

For now, it seems Guendouzi may be closer to a departure than anything else.
