Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno claims the All or Nothing documentary on the club’s season didn’t accurately portray the reality behind the scenes.

Bernd Leno, the former Arsenal goalkeeper, has recently spoken out about the popular Amazon ‘All or Nothing’ documentary that followed Arsenal’s 2021/22 season.

Leno believes the series did not accurately represent the reality of what was going on behind the scenes at the club.

Leno’s insight on the documentary

Leno, who spent four years at Arsenal before joining Fulham last summer, claims that the documentary series was not entirely truthful.

In an interview with Goal, he said, “You know, it’s nice for the fans and for the people to see everything. But at the end of the day, I have to say this is not the reality. Some things were not 100 per cent true.”

Controversial moments and player issues

The documentary series covered various aspects of Arsenal’s season, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure and the team’s chase for a Champions League spot.

However, Leno hinted that there were also issues with certain players that were not fully shown in the documentary.

“This season there were also a lot of problems with some players and everything,” Leno said.

“And when you were inside and then you watched the documentary and then you see like I think, no, I’m not sure about that.

“But I think that’s part of the commercial stuff.”

Leno’s Arsenal career and departure

Bernd Leno joined Arsenal under Unai Emery and became a fan favourite, winning the FA Cup and delivering consistently impressive performances.

However, Aaron Ramsdale’s arrival at the club marked a change in fortune for the German goalkeeper. Leno was dropped after a difficult start to the 2021/22 season, and Ramsdale took over as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Despite his abrupt departure from Arsenal, Leno has no hard feelings towards the club.

“I had four great years at Arsenal,” Leno said. “I still have a lot of friends in the team and I had a very good connection with the fans.

“Even in difficult moments. They supported me. Even now, when I go to the city, a lot of Arsenal fans come and say thank you for your service.

“Last year was difficult at Arsenal, but in general the time was very, very good and very nice, not only for my career, but for my life as well.”
