Arsenal suffered a damaging and demoralising defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday, leaving their Premier League title hopes hanging by a thread.

But in a message on his Instagram page, Gabriel Magalhaes insisted the team aren’t giving up the ghost just yet.

“I love this club, I love this squad, I feel at home and this is where I want to win and achieve my goals,” Gabriel said. “We will not give up, we will fight and honour the Arsenal shirt until the end.”

Gabriel then added a quote to his post, which read: “There is always room on the stage of victory for the warriors who never give up after a fall.”

There will certainly be a lot of eyes on Arsenal’s response to their most recent setback when they take on Chelsea next Tuesday.

A game against the Gunners’ London rivals is always an important one for the fans, but this particular game is now an opportunity to get back on track and to start silencing the critics.

The title race may well be over, but Arsenal can’t afford to think like that until there’s no chance at all.

The only thing more painful than the last few games would be to drop points in the next five and then watch City drop them too.

More than that, Arsenal need to finish the season strongly to send a message that they’ll be back next year for more.
